I just got back from a camp at pulau hantu. It was spookily peaceful initially until a bunch of sch kids came to disrupt the peace. I never expected to enjoy myself coz that island's got no recreational facilities, it's just u and the nature. There was a lagoon too and wading through it during low tide is quite an experience, considering that any attempt to wade thru it during high tide means certain death. But it's really no joke getting bitten (ouch!) by unseen sea creatures, perhaps the sea slugs... yucks. Trying to cook proper meals using charcoals which take an incredibly long time to warm up was as good as trying to start a fire using only wood. It was disastrous trying to cook lunch as it took hours just to cook something that falls short of the definition of "decent". A pity too much time was wasted fussing over the diff ways of getting the charcoals to warm up so much precious recreation time was wasted. Oh well, at least we learnt something on how to get the charcoals warmed quickly. Use lotsa paper as the fuel to ignite a huge fire, provided the fire doesnt get way outa hand n end up burning other things, which happened n we nearly started a small fire (well done)....
A stroll around the island at nite was wonderful though the sound of rustling leaves was constantly heard n my friend explained that it could be the komodo dragons which he's seen lurking on this island before. Eeekss, thank goodness those creatures never saw me as their potential food source. pheww...
Anyhow, this camp allowed me to learn quite alota stuff & the company I shared was great. I am so darn glad I took a break from the maddening load of shit, oh i meant work. I think I am sane again, hooray for me :)

Here's wishing everyone a sane n peaceful christmas n a merry new year.

tis the season to be corny...
