I recommend everyone to watch the Pianist. Funny how ppl shun that movie coz they think it caters only to a certain group of ppl -- ppl who understand or appreciate music. Sad that not many Singaporeans haven't learnt how to appreciate such stuff... but anyhow, this movie is not totally about piano music or stuff, it's set in the WWII context where the cruelties of the German soldiers shocked me with the way they treated and killed the Jews. And Adrien Brody is such an amazing actor, his intense expression when he
plays the piano stirs up some kinda emotions though he's not the one who played the entire chopin ballad but some other polish pianist. no wonder this film was a winner at the Cannes film fest last year. This movie inspired me greatly as Wladyslaw Szpilman must have been a really great pianist that he was able to touch a german soldier with his talent. I am amazed at how lucky he must have been to escape death. If i hadn't known b4 the movie that it's based on a true story, I would not have believed that a person can be so lucky. let me end this entry with this particular quote from the movie: You musicians make poor conspirers because you are too musical.
