I had a painfully boring day and I had to get that depressive boredom off by watching a trashy, variety programme on channel U where Kym Ng and Bryan Wong went in search for bony women at bugis junction. Being really bored obviously, i started guessing the age of the women they picked and thought that most of them were about 20+. My jaw dropped, making me look like a fish trying to suck in air, when they said they were 18 to 19 yrs old. I wonder what made them look so much older than their age. Was it their make up or their dressing? I wonder if most people feel that teenagers these days mature quickly in their appearances and dressing? Why would teenagers want to look like adults? Here is a list of possible reasons:
They want to get into pubs n clubs
they have a thing for sugar daddies, therefore the more mature they look, the higher their chances of being a mistress
they deceive themselves into thinking that there are tcs spies everywhere so if they dress up, tcs wud pick them
they want to be the spokeswoman for the adult version of barbie doll.

Kudos to those who pick none of the above reasons coz it goes to show that your years of education havent turned u into someone like me...

gd nite! and look young! :P

Warning to readers of 16 years and below: sucking ppl's blood won't make u look young but it will definitely give u HIV.

My home telephone died on me last nite after it rang and there was an eerie silence. It seemed as if the phone was speaking to me that this is the last call. The phone died, so did communication. Less understanding, less pardon, more hurt, that's all I can feel now and I wish to say no more.

they say that running up and down the stairs, and jogging will wear and tear your knees, I didn't believe but now i do. My knees are starting to ache after jogging and running up & dwn the stairs at least twice a week. This sucks coz my colleague's knees ached and now she cannot jog as it is excruciatingly painful. Maybe I should land more gently each time my feet touch the ground so as to lessen the impact on my knees but i would definitely look comical trying to run like that. Sigh...

It's been a long while since I wrote. Been busy with work and eluding the staff politics. It sucks big time when i expend so much energy trying to be careful of what i say and do. Mind you, these so called pious people who claim to be self-righteous do not practise what they preach esp when they are the ones shooting arrows behind your back. And worse still, they reinforce or stereotype gender roles in the name of their religion. Note this speech that was made in front of a young impressionable crowd: It is alright for a woman to carry out her daily household chores as this is what she should do and by doing so, she is glorifying god. I turned livid when i heard this. They are obviously manipulating the mindset of the young through a powerful institution - religion. It is bad enough that gender roles are deeply rooted in our patriarchal society and the last thing we need is reinforcement of these roles from other avenues. I would have stood up and protested and condemned the speaker for instilling such sexist statements but that would have warranted eternal condemnation from my colleagues so I shut my trap. I begin to see how my colleagues discourage us from discussing issues on sexism and racism with the young coz it is a 'sensitive' issue. The reasons for discouraging us from discussing about sexism are obvious, as illustrated by what i have said earlier. As for racism, By avoiding such discussions, the young are not able to respect the other races. It is really up to how the leader of the discussion control such talks about racism, it has got nothing to do with sensitivity. Do people have to wait till they take up modules on racism in uni or study lit texts which explore racism before they get a chance to discuss these issues? I am so against the idea of obscuring the harsh reality of racism from the young. Well, it is obvious by now that half of my colleagues ought to be fired as they are deemed unsuitable for this job.
