WCG

WCG

I went to the world cyber games yesterday at suntec. I got free hand painting with my friend and my friend obnoxiously declared that hers was nicer. Whatever... Anyway, I was wowed by the amazing numbers of comp terminals set up for this event. also, there were people dressed up in the coolest costumes to rep the game characters. I was at the counterstrike section and it seemed that the sg team was really aggressive in their game, shouting out commands to their team mates to warn them or help them whereas the other teams were rather quiet. of course, cheers erupted every now and then from Sg fans and my, it was really packed. It was really an eye opener for me as I've never been to such an event before and as I walked around, I wondered how these ppl can just sit there for hours, competing and controlling their bladder. Gee! Also, I was wondering if anyone suffered from Deep Vein Thrombosis after sitting in that same one position for SO LONG! anyway, i'm looking forward to going to expo today for the once in a lifetime exhibition, yeah.. :)

The lagging blogger

hmmm, was updating the settings of my blog successfully (what a feat considering how little I know of this blog) when I decided to try putting the links of my friends' blogs again and it works!
Great! Then I proceeded to check on the links to see if they're working (which all did), and I was pleasantly surprised to see one of them has finally updated the blog! Then i realised that i'm lagging as it was updated in Sept. Gee, I have been MIA for a really long time too.. Anyway, Well done Alv :P It's really great to read your posts once again after your long absence! :)

My colleague mentioned today that it is so wrong to modify or improvise the lyrics of original songs and when he said that, I got kinda incensed since I was gonna be performing a number with some colleagues at the end of the yr and the lyrics were changed.

He's a stick in the mud who holds such outdated principles that really piss me and many other ppl off. In his defence, he said that original songs should be left untouched, unspoilt in their pristine condition. If everyone were to think like him, we will never progress in society. The beauty of improvisation of songs or even changing lyrics lies in allowing us to expend our creativity and even offers us a fresh perspective of the song.

If I were to question him, I would have asked him if discoveries made by scientists should be left in their original form and that we should not improvise on their discoveries to make this world a better place? He's got pretty warped ideas. Anyway, it's no wonder that he's a big time slacker, doesn't like change coz he thinks that the stuff that are in place are good enough already and therefore, need no modification.

Unfortunately, he's gotta "bigger" voice than mine so what can I say? I shut up for the sake of my reputation for if I were to say something, the words that come out would be nasty. :)

Anyway, time to retire to bed soon considering that training's gonna be tough tomorrow. I am starting to enjoy the training ever since I started using the bosu/busu(whatever the spelling is) ball to strengthen my back muscles. Kinda challenging considering that I've gotta do funny "stunts" on that wobbly unstable thing.

Oh yes, it's been my pleasure writing this after such a darn long break :)
